Megachip™ carbon guards are designed with aerodynamic performance, high durability, and a seamless fit and finish, providing invaluable protection to the paint along the sides of the car. These M5 guards are the pinnacle of our engineering and design efforts. 

The guards have a 1/2" width adjustment for stock wheels or wider setups.

Aero Design Program

For our carbon line of products, testing was performed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) on a Toyota GR Corolla to simulate aerodynamic performance of the guards. The left-hand (driver's) side of the car is stock, while the right-hand side has Megachip guards. The design characteristics from the results of this study were directly carried over to the M5 guard program.

The results from the analysis indicate a measurable, but negligible, increase in drag.

Below is a photo showing the the pressure increase near the Megachip guards. Air velocity is approximately 100 MPH approaching the car:

The graph shows consistent results during a sequence of simulations: there is a very small increase in drag coefficient with Megachip guards. However, it is important to note that software results do not always align perfectly with real-world outcomes. The result is a splash guard taken to the highest degree of quality and design, making it extremely competent on the track and in the showroom.

Why do you use 3M™ adhesive for mounting?

3M™ VHB™ tape creates a strong, permanent bond without the need for drilling or modifying the vehicle.

There is no damage caused by the mounting process. After installation, the 45 mil 5952 VHB bonds exceptionally well to the vehicle plastics, painted surfaces, and the rubber guard material, in all weather conditions.

Can you drive through a car wash with these? What about pressure washers?

With a proper installation, we guarantee the guards will stay attached to the vehicle except in cases of car crashes or physical contact of the guards with very large road debris.

Do these work in cold, snowy Winter conditions?

Absolutely. With six years and counting, Megachip guards have been put to the test through harsh Midwest winters, satisfying many customers who experience extremely cold conditions.
